Summary: This paper aims to describe a development program offered by the Corporate University of mining company with operations in Vitória/ES, and understand the possible relationship of this program to the development of professional competencies expected by the Organization. Gamma Company, so will be identified throughout the work, had the beginning of its Corporate University in 2003, in order to transform lives by developing people, and is seen by the Company range as a important factor for the generation of competitiveness to developments in business and increased organizational synergy. Of all the programs offered, the option is the study of the "Management and Leadership Track", released in 2004, and focused on training managers of Company Gama. In carrying out this qualitative research, we interviewed four Supervisors of Company Gama, who had the opportunity to participate in the "Management and Leadership Track". Semi-structured interviews and documentary research to obtain data were performed. The option is to Content Analysis as an analytical method. It is understood that, for the Company Gama, the program "Management and Leadership Track" is an important tool for the development of competencies expected by the organization. However, it is not the main tool, being clear that this development goes far beyond the programs offered by the Corporate University.
