Summary: The aim of this paper is to analyze the impacts of the continuing education policy in the Municipal Education Department of Vitória on managerial learning from the school principals point of view, who were involved in this process. Beside a theoretical support of management concepts revisions, school management, learning and continuing education, this paper was conducted under a qualitative research approach. The data collect techniques used were documentary research and semi-structured interviews with school principals and members of the Municipal Department of Education, carried out between August and December 2017. Thus, this investigation was fulfilled in order to characterize the work of the school management, to describe the organization of the actions in the continuing education policy within the Municipal Education Department 2015-2017 triennium and to understand the influence of this movement in the management schools daily work of Vitoria. The main results indicate a formation process - organized by Municipal Education Department - far from the real experiences lived in the school’s daily routine. Besides that, it was identified which the Principals' Forum movement is an important factor in the learning process of these professionals as a compensatory element in face of the structural problems neglected by the Central Organ. The contribution of the research was mainly focused on the needing change reflection and revision regarding the continuing education’s conceptual parameters.
